There is an incredible depth of work by non-government organizations (NGOs) throughout Haiti which is inspiring. At times it is worrisome as well – when they fail to work with each other – or worse, work at cross purposes.
Still, this new map of grassroots organizations and air groups, brings a revealing and very important transparency to Haiti’s evolving social infrastructure. Take a look! http://ngoAidMap.org
One Laptop per Child’s (OLPC) global educational community likewise has a great deal to offer, displaying their volunteers’ emerging work on a dynamic Haiti map showing innovative schools. It’s not only user-friendly, but more important a showcase of people hard at work, dedicating their knowledge, energy and hearts to Haiti’s next generation: http://olpcMAP.net?go=caribbean
