A Canadian Event, for Education in Haiti

This was but one gathering, a very happy one, where friends assembled over food in support of laptops for Haitian schools.

Here is the hero of the day:

A friend played the bagpipes as people gathered. Such an emotional instrument, perfect for the occasion.

People gathered everywhere to explore and chat….

Not only did they share good food, but they were eager to try the students’ computers.

The weather was lovely and so we enjoyed the out of doors.

Brief presentations were made to describe several educational programs. This one was focused on Haiti:

Here you see people being encouraged to read Paul Farmer’s book on Haiti since the earthquake.

Another presentation involved a very successful school project in Kenya.
Here is the final presentation, a description of grass roots mapping projects around the world.

It was a splendid event and we are all eager for news of progress!
