Bonjou – ki jon ou ye?

“Bonjou – ki jon ou ye?” — Hello, how are you?”

So today is Friday and we are back in Kindergarten in Croix-des-Bouquets!
This is today’s report from George, one of the teacher volunteers.(among other things!)

The meeting yesterday (Thursday), with the kindergarten teachers, felt a little bit like a power struggle. The issue was whether today, the students should each have their own laptop, or whether the teachers should demonstrate the lesson (only the adults having laptops). Strategically, the teachers won the struggle. Perhaps it was a good decision overall.

The teachers used chants, and singing, to burn off some of the kids’ excess energy, before the laptop session began.

(I’m admiring the nice large table surface for the children to work at! Maybe one day a school library could have such tables!)

Our OLPC crew spent a lot of their time explaining the activities to the teachers and getting the school server to have power.

How many teachers does it take to change a lightbulb? LOL!

The teachers were pretty active doing the instruction!
